Morning Glory
75 x 53 inches
Inspired by the mountains and meadows of Grand Teton National Park. The soothing colors of blues and greens convey the sense of peace I feel in the shadow of these mighty mountains. Machine pieced, hand quilted, hand appliquéd. Exhibited at American Quilter's Society 2001 Paducah, Ky.
Isaiah 51
72.5 x 52.5 inches
This quilt expresses my personal faith in the transforming power of the Gospel; through the cross of Christ, a desert is changed into a garden. Machine pieced, hand quilted. Hanging in Living Word Presbyterian Church, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

View from the Forest
39 x 49 inches
The scene in View was inspired by a favorite walk of mine through the Idaho Panhandle National Forest, English Point. As the path curved along in various places you'd be able to look out over private lands to see the mountains in the distance. Machine pieced, hand quilted.
A "Bitter" Crossing
51.5 x 58.5 inches
This landscape quilt commemorates Lewis and Clarks' expedition. After leaving Great Falls Montana in late summer of 1805 the crew headed west and caught sight of the Bitterroot mountains. By the time they reached the other side they had nearly starved to death and had been forced to eat their horses. Machine pieced, quilted and appliquéd. Layers of tulle and organza were used to create the waterfall. The aspen trunks are hand painted. Exhibited Museum of the American Quilter's Society.

Canyon Falls
46 x 53 inches
Inspired by both a song (Nothing to Say, Andrew Peterson Band) and a photograph of Havasu Falls, I translated this scene into fabric. Fabrics used include corduroy in the shadows, layers of tulle for the waterfalls and tapestry fabrics in the mossy area under the falls. This quilt is machine pieced and hand quilted. (There is a detailed explanation in my book of how I created a pattern for this quilt from a photograph.)
Autumn on the Lake
56 x 44 inches
Maple trees in full color crown the cold waters of Lake Superior. The scene captures the view from the bluffs over 12 Mile Beach from the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Spring's Call
52 x 45 inches
Who can resist wandering down the path when violets are blooming and the sun is shinning!? The violet is Wisconsin's State Flower and I sprinkled them liberally all over the foreground. Machine pieced, machine quilted. Exhibited at American Quilter's Society 2004 Paducah, Ky.
Autumn Triptych
53.5 x 40.5 inches
Fall is my favorite season and one of my favorite walks takes me by the remains of an early homesteader's foundation. Little did the poor farmers know that they were trying to cultivate an old glacial moraine - every season they 'grew' a new crop of stones! Machine pieced, quilted and appliquéd. Exhibited in the American Quilter's Society 2005 Paducah,Ky.

Victorian Garden Arch
45 x 55 inches
When I saw Michael Miller's Masterpiece print, so reminiscent of John Constable's paintings of rural 18th century England, I knew I had to design the perfect setting for it! Framed by a stone arch and an over sized vase of roses, the quilt is an invitation to climb up the stairs into times past. Machine pieced, quilted and appliquéd. The pattern and directions for making this quilt are in my book. First Place Wall Quilts, Wisconsin Quilt Expo. Exhibited American Quilter's Society 2006 Paducah, Ky.
Terrace by the Sea
41 x 54 inches
Chosen as the cover quilt for my book. Flowers highlight the Mediterranean Sea; they drip down into the sky, they over flow their pots and they frame the terrace entrance. Machine pieced, quilted and appliquéd.

A Floral Vista
44 x 56.5 inches
Inspired by the painting Floral Vista, by Jerome. Composed of finished 1 inch squares. (My new technique using a tear-away foundation makes it easy to sew the smallest squares together accurately!) Machine pieced, quilted and appliquéd and hand painted, layered with tulle. Exhibited American Quilter's Society 2007 Paducah, Ky.
Autumn Path
24 x 17 inches
Composed of 3/4 inch finished squares! Using tear-away foundation to piece makes sewing even the smallest squares together easy. (A complete explanation of this technique is in my book). Standing back from this quilt you'd almost think it was a photograph. I used dye markers to 'paint' the tree trunks, there is a detail shot of the aspen trees on the Tips and Helps page. Machine pieced, appliquéd and quilted.

Tree of Life
41.5 x 53 inches
The Tree from which true life springs, is the Cross of Christ. If you look carefully you can see the cross hidden in the branches of this tree. This is my second watercolor landscape quilt - I thought I'd show you an early work! Machine pieced and hand quilted.
Arches National Park
51 x 38 inches
This is a dramatic view of the rock formations in Utah through a stone arch. I used a variety of fabrics in this quilt, including sueded polyester and printed corduroy. The quilt is inspired by a calendar photo, and is machine pieced and hand quilted.

Aspens Along the Snake River
59 x 44 inches
Once again my love of Grand Teton National Park inspired a quilt. The particular scene is a view of some aspen trees which line the Snake River, the evergreens behind them hinting of the first snowfall of the season. The Teton mountains tower over the valley floor as they do from every vantage point in the park. It is machine pieced, machine appliquéd, hand and machine quilted. This quilt juried into the American Quilters' Society Show in Paducah 2003, and published in Quilter's Newsletter Magazine.
Fence Post
25 x 26.5 inches
I've always loved morning glory vines as they clamber their way up to the sunshine. In case you haven't noticed, I also love mountains and blue skies! I combined these things into one of my favorite little wall hangings. Machine pieced and quilted. Published in American Quilter magazine. (This is a great project for beginners and there are complete instructions in my book.)
